Therapeutic laser: drug-free relief

Therapeutic laser is one of the gentlest tools we have for pain and healing. Here's how it works and which pets tend to benefit most.

Therapeutic (or "cold") laser uses focused light to stimulate activity inside your pet's cells. That can reduce inflammation, ease pain and speed up tissue healing - all without medication, sedation or discomfort.

What it helps with

Laser therapy is used for a wide range of conditions:

  • Arthritis and chronic joint pain
  • Recovery after surgery
  • Wounds, hot spots and slow-healing skin
  • Soft-tissue injuries like strains and sprains

What a session is like

Sessions are short and painless. Your pet wears small protective goggles while we move the laser wand over the treatment area - most animals feel only a gentle warmth, and many relax completely or even doze off. There's no need to shave the fur, and there are no known side effects.

Laser therapy works especially well alongside other care, and can sometimes reduce how much medication a pet needs. For senior pets, or those who can't take certain drugs, it's a comforting option worth asking about.

Good to know

Common questions

How many laser sessions will my pet need?
It depends on the condition. Acute problems may resolve in a few sessions, while chronic issues like arthritis often benefit from an ongoing, tapering schedule. We'll tailor a plan to your pet's response.
Is laser therapy safe?
Very. It's non-invasive with no known side effects. Your pet wears protective goggles during treatment, and sessions are quick and comfortable.
