Six decades of caring for Fort Collins pets
Chappelle Small Animal Hospital has been part of this community for more than sixty years. Six doctors, twenty-plus team members, and one simple idea: treat every pet like our own, and every owner like a partner.
A neighborhood practice that grew up with Fort Collins
We opened our doors in 1961, back when Fort Collins was a much smaller town. The city has grown, veterinary medicine has transformed, and our hospital has grown with it - adding doctors, in-house diagnostics, surgery and gentle alternative therapies along the way.
What hasn't changed is the feeling when you walk in: that you're among neighbors who genuinely care about your animal. We're proud to be the highest-rated of Fort Collins' long-standing hospitals - but we're prouder of the families who keep coming back, generation after generation.
Six doctors and a team that knows your pet by name
Our veterinarians - Drs. Suto, Lewis, Sherrod, Womack, Nelson, Mataczynski and Zaloudek - bring a deep range of experience, from routine wellness to surgery, dentistry and acupuncture. Behind them stands a team of more than twenty technicians, assistants and client-care staff.
- Experience across every life stageFrom a wriggly first puppy visit to gentle, unhurried senior care.
- Familiar faces, visit after visitThe continuity that lets us notice when something's changed for your pet.
The values behind every visit
Gentle, low-stress care
We move at your pet's pace - calm handling, quiet rooms, and the patience that makes a vet visit something they can tolerate, not dread.
Everything in-house
Diagnostics, surgery, dentistry and recovery happen here, with doctors who know your pet's whole story - fewer referrals, faster answers.
Trusted for generations
Many of the families we see today came in as kids with their parents. Sixty-plus years in one community is a trust we don't take lightly.
